Emily Sewell is a Honolulu based artist who is a self professed “heart artist” with a focus on creating works of art that draws from the human experience. She works with mostly fiber material and is interested in the slow process of creating. As is the heart, Emily’s work is whimsical, delicate, and playful, but also heavy, deep, and emotional. She finds inspiration from the everyday and is currently interested in intimate environments.
Emily received her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Hawaii in 2011, with an emphasis in Fiber Arts. She has had solo shows at the Manifest and the Gallery of Hawaii Artists (GOHA) in Honolulu, Hawaii, which were both met with rave reviews.
