Half Japanese half American artist from Tokyo. After graduating with a BFA in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in 2010, she returned to Tokyo where she currently lives and works as an artist.
“When I paint, I often think about the idea of organic symmetry. I aim for perfection, drawing symmetrical lines and patterns, but the product is inevitably imperfect and slightly unbalanced. In this process I recall the imperfections of our own, human forms. We say that nobody is perfect, but people still strive toward an ideal. This tension between our desire for the ideal and the inevitably imperfect result defines the human experience. ”
