Gotaro Oshitari is a believer that music transcends language; where words fail, music speaks. His love for music started at a young age when his mother enrolled him in classical piano lessons and from there, his musical interests shifted to reggae and soul music. After graduating high school, he met bassist Pu’unui Wong & pianist Sherwin Debrum where he was introduced to the local music scene dawning his career as a professional musician. Throughout the years, he has been able to share the gift of music, traveling the world and performing at many prestigious venues and music festivals with Hawaii’s best artists.
Currently, Gotaro is one of the music studio directors at Lana Lane Studios (Kaka’ako, HI) alongside Nicholas Kaleikin & Osna Ronquillo. Few of his production credits include music from The Bougies, Rebel Souljahz, Kaipo Kapua, & Rootikal Riddim. You can catch him playing live with local musicians such as Kimié Miner and Irie Love or DJ’ing at Hawaii’s top venues. You can catch him playing live with local musicians such as Kimié Miner, Irie Love, and Songbird & the Colors as well as DJ’ing at Hawaii’s top venues.
